Parking Information

Visitor parking for Sloan School is located in the lot to the right of the building. Parking is very limited. Please be patient and drive with caution when children are arriving and being dismissed. Driving that is hazardous to the safety of students and individuals will be reported to the Murrysville Police. Parents are asked to use the school buses provided through tax dollars to transport children or to carpool as frequently as possible when children are being picked up or dropped off at school.


Student Arrival

Student arrival in the mornings should not take place prior to 8:40 a.m. The school district does not provide supervision for children until this time.

Morning and after-school care is available at Sloan Elementary School through a latch key program which is sponsored by the East Suburban YMCA (724-327-4667).

Morning Drop off— follow traffic pattern and be cautious. No drop off in front of school building. Parents should have a back-up plan for morning and afternoon childcare in the event of a delay or emergency early dismissal.



Student Dismissal

Please send in a parent pickup note with your child in the morning. If we do not have a note you will need to stop by the greeter's desk before you can pick up your child.

If your child will be picked up every day by the same person/people then you will only need to send in one note at the beginning of the school year unless there is a change of plans.

If you are occasionally picking up your child then you will need to send in a note each time they need picked up. Please use the attached form to make the dismissal process go smoothly.

Parents need to meet their children inside the gym.

Students will be dismissed from their classroom to the gym at 3:20 with a parent pickup slip. A staff member will match up the student with the person listed on their dismissal slip. Please have ID with you to show the staff member. For the safety of all students we will not release a student with anyone that is not listed on their dismissal slip.
